About Destination Daintree

Destination Daintree is the visitor guide to the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, created by the people who live and work here. It is a project of the Daintree Marketing Co-operative Ltd, a not-for-profit co-operative of local tourism businesses that has been promoting the region since 2009.

Our members run the tours, accommodation, cafés, shops and attractions that welcome visitors to the Daintree every day. Together we share local knowledge, help visitors plan their trip, and showcase the small, boutique and unique businesses that make this part of the world so special.

Who We Are

The Daintree Marketing Co-operative is a member-owned, not-for-profit co-operative made up of tourism operators from across the Daintree region. Today our members operate around 70 tourism businesses, from small family-run cabins and cafés to river cruises, reef trips and guided tours.

We cover the whole region, stretching around 95 km from Mossman Gorge through Daintree Village, across the Daintree River and through Daintree National Park to Cape Tribulation and the Bloomfield Track.

What We Do

  • Destination Daintree website – the region’s visitor guide, with member listings, trip-planning advice and local information.
  • Daintree Visitors’ Map – a free map of the region, with around 170,000 copies printed each year and widely used by visitors crossing the Daintree River.
  • Visitor guides – including the Daintree Directory, Daintree Experiences and Daintreepedia, packed with local tips and contacts.
  • Promoting the region – through social media, community events and working with Douglas Shire Council and Tourism Port Douglas and Daintree.
